The existing bus depot at Longrock is in poor condition with a dilapidated building and out of date facilities.

A refurbished bus depot facility at the Longrock depot site will replace the current dilapidated facility which is not suitable for the modern Cornwall public transport fleet. A new layout will be provided for multiple bus users to include some shared facilities such as bus and car parking, bus washing and common ‘portacabin’ type facilities for staff welfare and bus fuelling. It is also envisaged that an area of the site could be ring fenced for future alternative fuels e.g. electric vehicle charging.

What have we done so far?…

  1. Site Setup

DSW are currently setting-up the Longrock Bus Depot site by installing welfare units and fencing to keep the area safe. Asbestos removal will follow, then the initial Soft-Strip stage.

  1. Mechanical Demolition

The demolition of the bus depot in Longrock, near Penzance, is progressing at full speed. DSW’s powerful mechanical excavators are hard at work, methodically tearing down walls and dismantling the structure piece by piece. This critical phase of the project showcases the precision and efficiency of our team as we transform the once-bustling depot into a cleared site, paving the way for its next chapter.
